Kleinwächter Ltd.

In many branches of industry and research, the importance of mostly undesirable electrostatic fields is becoming increasingly apparent. They occur, for example, in the production and processing of non-conductive materials and must therefore be measured and eliminated by appropriate measures. Furthermore, accidents can be caused by physical shock effects when electrically charged parts are touched.  In research in the field of aeronomy and biophysics, the non-contact measurement of electrostatic fields plays an important role. From these few examples, it is clear that reliable measurement of electrostatic fields by means of a handy and easy-to-use device is essential for the prevention of hazards and interference as well as for research purposes.

History

The company was founded in 1981 by Prof. Dr.-Ing Hans Kleinwächter. Since 1983, the company has been managed by Jürgen Brunner. Since 2000, the company has been in Hausen im Wiesental.

Most of the measuring instruments (EFM) are based on the open field mill, a further development of the Schwenghagen principle by the company's founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Kleinwächter, who was awarded the Gold Medal of the Leipzig Measuring Office for high scientific and technical level in 1974.

With this technology no energy is extracted from the object to be measured. Therefore, it is possible to deduce the charge on the surface from the measured electric field strength.

 

Unique due to product variety and continuous development

Through constant innovation and investment, the devices are always state of the art and the company can offer a wide range of products.

In addition to the electric field meter, Kleinwächter also offers TERA ohmmeters, which are ideal for measuring surfaces, continuity and leakage resistance. These can have a measuring range from 1kΩ to 10TΩ.

Furthermore, the product range includes discharge test devices for the ESD area and charge plate monitors for testing air ionisation devices.
